Taking the Theatre ONLINE
For those of you who tuned in to watch The Bel Canto Sopranos 'Virtual VE Day celebration' back in May, you will know that we spent a lot of time adapting the performance from Stage to Screen. It was quite a long and drawn out process but, the results that we had in the end were well worth all the hard work, time and effort.
So, what were we going to do about our Summer Tour that was due to start only a few weeks later?
We were going to need to repeat this same process of taking the Stage - Online. So we got our heads down and started preparing. We started by picking out the songs from our 2 hour show and deciding which ones were going to make the cut for the online performance of only 55 minutes. After that, it was time to start preparing the vocal tracks and lyrics for all of the performers. After that we all spent the time getting our vocals practised and perfected, before the final recording.
It's so much easier to practice when the whole group is in the same room, so this meant that we had to be even more prepared before the recording process could take place.
However, what we were left with at the end of it all, was a wonderful concert of beautiful music, with some stunning arrangements and harmonies, leaving us feeling very proud of what we had created!
Joining us on the concert, was American Classical Crossover Artist - Jay Dref www.jaylouisdref.com
Jay has previously joined us on a few collaborations, so we were thrilled to have him join us once more, for another performance.
